Norman Mayhew told us more…

Starting as a family-run partnership, the company set out with a clear mission: to enhance businesses’ visual identities and help them stand out in competitive markets. Under my leadership, the business has continuously evolved, achieving significant milestones and earning widespread recognition. Peter Lake retired in 2007, leaving a legacy of strong foundational contributions that continue to shape the company’s ethos today.

In 2003, the company was incorporated as a private limited company, marking a new chapter in its growth. From modest beginnings, The Sussex Sign Company now operates out of a 4,000-square-foot design and manufacturing hub equipped with state-of-the-art technology and an exceptional team of professionals. This expansion reflects the company’s dedication to quality, customer service, and innovation.

Over the years, more than 15 team members have achieved their NVQs in sign making, with the most recent apprentice earning a distinction—a testament to the company’s dedication to nurturing talent and fostering professional growth.

Despite its impressive legacy, The Sussex Sign Company remains ambitious and forward-thinking. Currently, the company is constructing a state-of-the-art vehicle wrapping center in Burgess Hill. Set to become the Center of Excellence for vehicle wrapping and fleet graphics in Sussex, this facility embodies the company’s commitment to innovation and maintaining its leadership position in the industry.

As The Sussex Sign Company celebrates its 30th anniversary, it continues to prioritise quality, customer service, and community engagement.
