The new models are 23% faster than their predecessors and come with 10 freely configurable colour channels.
swissQprint has completely reworked its range of UV LED flatbed printers, improving productivity, precision and application diversity. The new models are 23% faster than their predecessors and all have ten freely configurable colour channels.
New platform
This fifth generation of flatbed printers is based on a completely new design, with new base, beam and head carriage and includes new electronics and software. A major element is the new chassis due to the forces generated by these bigger, beefier machines while the new beam and head carriage were necessary to ensure accuracy and positioning. In addition, these printers are equipped with linear motors that allow faster, more precise printing.
“This fifth generation of flatbed printers is based on the same robust platform as the top-of-the-range Kudu model, which has proven itself worldwide over the past two years,” explains Carmen Eicher, Sales and Marketing Director at swissQprint.
23% more productivity
The Nyala 5 and Impala 5 make up this new range together with Kudu. The flatbed printers are faster than the previous generation, with a maximum speed of 341 m²/h on the Kudu while the Nyala can now reach 253 m²/h. “Our ambition has always been to combine performance with high print quality, and these new printers are the perfect example,” says Eicher. With efficiency-enhancing features, users benefit from reduced turnaround times and consistently high quality.
High resolution and extended versatility
The redesigned print heads give a resolution of 1350 dpi and the ten freely configurable colour channels means printers don’t have to choose between white or varnish. In addition to light colours, spot colours such as neon or orange, as well as primer expand the range of applications. The Kudu and Nyala have a bed size of 3.2x2m while the Impala measures 2.5x2m. The Impala and Nyala offer a maximum of 20 print heads compared to up to 30 on the Kudu.
There is a roll-to-roll option up to 180kg or a dual roll for narrower media up to 50kg/roll, with both upgrades being available in the field. Other additional features include permeable collector paper for full bleed printing on pre-cut boards, which saves having to clean the print bed, and an oversize board option for boards up to 4m long.
Reliability
swissQprint Generation 5 printers run at an average power consumption of 2.2kwh and benefit from a three-year manufacturer warranty. They are available immediately.
swissQprint UK is inviting interested parties to an open house on 21 and 22 January, where they will have opportunity to experience the new platform live. Short-notice registrations and bookings for individual demonstrations can be made by telephone: 01344 929 580. The Generation 5 printers will also be on show at various upcoming trade fairs where swissQprint and its international network of partners will be exhibiting.
