Record business levels means additional EFI firepower for this Watford-based business
Rocket Graphics has installed an EFI VUTEk 5r+ UV LED 5m roll-to-roll printer from CMYUK. This new investment further increases its production firepower to service the robust growth and increased demand of the post-COVID business environment.

The EFI VUTEk 5r+ offers great image quality at high-rated throughput speeds along with the utmost range of options providing users with the lowest total cost of ownership. It features several new innovations, including a redesigned platform chassis for improved media advance, higher robustness, and sustainability.
A newly developed printing algorithm features pulse, temperature, voltage, and frequency, for higher density and overall quality improvement. Upgraded media handling accessories have been introduced, such as the 7.6 cm metal bar for improved 5-metre-wide media loading, while new optional features including the Winder Motorised Air Shaft handle media weights up to 400 kg at diameters of up to 50cm.
“It’s not just a super productive print machine. Its green credentials sit perfectly with our full company sustainability initiative. We are closing the loop of ‘first use’ eco materials through recycling print media, and to further enhance this, we need the greenest machines available.
“We all need to reduce our carbon footprint and minimise any negative eco impacts. Having equipment that enables the use of planet-friendly inks and substrates that requires less energy doing it is part of that process,” says Antony Rider, Sales Director, Rocket Graphics.
EFI and CMYUK
The VUTEk 5r+ will join the company’s existing EFI equipment, including an EFI VUTEk LX3 UV LED 3.2m-wide hybrid and EFI VUTEk FabriVU 340i in-line dye sublimation printer.
“Investing in the EFI VUTEk 5r+ was the obvious choice. For us, VUTEk printers have always delivered the four most important elements for a graphics business: speed, quality, reliability, and efficiency,” says Antony.
