Premier backs Environmental Excellence award

It has been announced that Premier is due to sponsor the Environmental Excellence category at the 2025 Sign Industry Awards.

Coinciding with Sign & Digital UK, the Sign Industry Awards are set to take place on Monday 24th February 2025 and will celebrate excellence in the sign and display sector, recognising outstanding suppliers, sign makers, and individual traders in sign making, digital printing and visual communications. Premier will have a stand at the show as well as sponsoring the Environmental Excellence category at the awards.

“We want to help celebrate the great work of the industry’s sign makers, printers and designers, and what better way than sponsoring the award which recognises Environmental Excellence” said Steve Jones, Director Display Sheets and Thermoplastics UK & Ireland

Steve Jones, Director Display Sheets and Thermoplastics UK & Ireland, comments “As exhibitors at Sign & Digital it was a natural fit for Premier to support the Sign Industry Awards as well. We want to help celebrate the great work of the industry’s sign makers, printers and designers, and what better way than sponsoring the award which recognises Environmental Excellence, an important subject that’s very close to Premier.”

Premier, who launched their Display Graphics division at Sign & Digital UK in 2019, have considered the increasing awareness and requirements for sustainable products in their ranges. The merchants have maintained a strong focus on offering product choice to the market with an emphasis on the growing demand for recyclable and PVC free materials.

Earlier this year, it was announced that Premier would be collaborating with FESPA UK and key industry suppliers to launch the latest part of the Waste Management Accreditation Scheme. This pioneering initiative aims to help businesses in the print, signage, and graphics industry achieve greater sustainability and operational efficiency.

“At Premier, we’re committed to helping our customers achieve their sustainability goals. This accreditation supports responsible waste and helps to create a better tomorrow.” says Brad West, Director of Wide Format Media (UK & Ireland) at Premier. Since its inception, the Waste Management Accreditation Scheme has gained widespread acclaim, with multiple businesses reaping the benefits of enhanced sustainability and cost efficiency. The accreditation currently includes graphics materials such as ACM, rigid boards, foam PVC, PVC banners, and polyester fabrics. It also includes more challenging materials to dispose of, including self-adhesive face plastics and siliconized backing papers.
