Metamark announce it has been acquired by UPM Raflatac, a specialist in high-quality self-adhesive paper and film products.
Metamark will form a key part of the new UPM Raflatac Graphics business and say they will continue to serve their customers with the very best products under the Metamark brand. “This is exciting and positive news for Metamark and its employees, our customers, and for the industries we supply, and our commitment to sustainability,” says Phil Wild, Metamark’s CEO.

UPM Raflatac is one of UPM’s six business areas. The Finnish based company is know for renewable alternatives to fossil-based materials, such as decarbonisation solutions, advanced materials, renewable fibres, and graphic papers

Metamark is now at the heart of a growing Graphics business unit within UPM Raflatac, which will result in greater global exposure for the Metamark brand. Their technical abilities will find a wider audience, and the pace of development will accelerate as the UPM Graphics business area grows.
While Metamark’s role within the UPM Graphics business advances its journey, little changes in practical terms from the customer’s viewpoint. Customers and partners will continue to experience Metamark’s established services levels under the same terms. Customers will speak to the same contacts and the website will remain the same.
The factory and headquarters in Lancaster in the UK will continue to manufacture Metamark products which will continue to be shipped by their exisiting conversion and fulfilment processes.
UPM Graphics is a new strategic self-adhesive business unit within UPM Raflatac. The business was established following the acquisition of AMC AG and its graphics business in 2022. In 2024, the company further expanded its graphics portfolio through the acquisition of Grafityp. The acquisition of Metamark will enable UPM Raflatac to scale up its graphics business giving it a significant weight in the company’s product portfolio. Typical graphics applications include indoor and outdoor advertising, signage and vehicle wrapping.
