Impact Sign Solutions chooses new Roland TrueVIS VG3-640

The business installed the new machine from QPS in May 2024 and has already reported improved output quality and production speeds.

Buckinghamshire-based sign-making business Impact Sign Solutions has purchased a Roland TrueVIS VG3-640 large-format eco-solvent inkjet printer/cutter from Quality Print Services (QPS) to speed up production and boost output quality.

Founded in 1994, Impact Sign Solutions is an independent, privately owned business that offers a wide range of sign-making services to the market. Working from its specialist facility in Aylesbury, Impact produces everything from outdoor signs and banners to vehicle graphics, stickers and garments.

With print forming a major part of its business, Impact has established a solid line-up of machinery, allowing it to deliver a range of applications. The company has been running several Roland printers including a SolJET Pro 4 XR-640, a VersaUV LEF-20 and a SOLJET Pro III XC-540, as well as an Océ Arizona and an HP DesignJet Z6200.

The new machine was installed at the Impact facility in May 2024, replacing the older SOLJET Pro III XC-540 model that had been running for several years.

With demand for its printing services increasing, Impact took the decision to upgrade this setup with a new printer. As a long-term user of Roland printers, the company was keen to return to the manufacturer for its next investment.

After considering several options, Impact settled on the TrueVIS VG3-640, agreeing to purchase the machine from approved Roland distributor QPS. The new machine was installed in May 2024, replacing the older SOLJET Pro III XC-540 model that had been running for several years.

“We purchased the VG3 to replace the XC540,” Impact’s Director and Print Manager, Susan Stevens, said. “We like Roland printers and the trade-in deal QPS offered us on the new machine was very attractive.”

The machine has only been up and running a matter of weeks, but Susan said the Impact team has already seen a marked improvement in production.

“It is faster, and the quality is better,” Susan said. “We won’t necessarily be targeting new markets with the machine, but it does help us to keep up with the workload on our current service offering.”

Susan praised QPS for their support during the purchase of the TrueVIS VG3-640, saying, “QPS is a first-class company; they are very helpful and knowledgeable to deal with.”
