Nick Loxham joins Cube Branding as Business Development Director to help with the next stage of growth for the company
“We’ve enjoyed 13 years of continuous growth to become a £3 million turnover company, but we have never done any selling,” says Cube’s founder and managing director, Nic Bessant.
It’s a remarkable statement. Nic started Cube on his own in 2008 and has become one of London’s leading branding and design companies. He describes Cube as the brand behind some of the world’s leading brands, and while working with these top-tier companies is extremely demanding, if you do it as well as Cube does, there are also plenty of rewards.
Nic adds, “We cover the entire country with a broad range of vinyl wrapping for fleets and vehicles. We have wrapped vehicles across the UK, from family saloons to 40 ft HGV Cab and trailer. We have even done the weird wonderful, including helicopters, jet skis and a barge planned to float down the Thames in 2024. Our strength is in taking on all sorts of jobs and doing them well.”
A total commitment to quality and reliability is the driving force behind Cube and is why brands like Nike, SkySports, Red Bull and many more household names keep calling on their services.
“We do all we can to manage entire projects for our clients,” says Nic. “Our reputation has been built on delivering large-scale, high-profile event and exhibition installations. We handle everything, including design, production, installation and comprehensive project management. These are often critical, one-off events, and there is no room for errors or delays. It’s hard work – but this is how we have developed and grown, and now it’s time to take the company to the next level.”
Welcome Nick Loxham
Nic adds, “We get lots of work in at very short notice. Our order book almost always shows full schedules for the coming week or two but hardly anything for three weeks’ time. That’s the nature of how we work. Great projects keep coming to us, and we are always ready for them, but we have never looked too far ahead. We have funding in place to move to a new production facility that will enable us to grow even further, and it is now time to bring someone in with a pedigree for developing strategic and manageable business growth. With the help of Matt at M-TWO, we are delighted to have found just the person for the job.”
Cube has appointed Nick Loxham to the role of business development director. He has many years’ experience working for big brands at the likes of PFI Group, SMP and several leading retail brands, such as Homebase and B&Q. He says, “What Nic and the team here have done to grow this business has been fantastic, and I am proud to join them. I will aim to build on their success as we outgrow our current building and move into even better facilities that will give us the platform for further growth over the coming years.”
He continues, “My role is to help the company progress from the reactive, day-to-day new business approach, which has served them brilliantly so far, into something more long-term, strategic and sustainable.”
Matt Hanley, managing director of M-TWO (Matching Talent With Opportunity), a recruitment business focussing on the print, packaging and signage industries, who placed Nick with Cube, says, “Cube has always blown me away as a company. They are one of the best in the business at what they do, and I am privileged to work with them to help them build and develop their team. I think Nick is a great fit for them, and I can see him being a big part of the further success I am sure the company will enjoy.
Nic continues, “We are very excited to appoint Nick. He comes to us from a much larger company and brings great experience and strategic thinking, which is exactly what Cube needs to continue our growth. He knows the market very well and will be looking to identify the best companies for us to work with and help us develop a longer-term plan for more effective, profitable and exciting projects.”
He concludes, “Being a reactive company that delivers time and again for clients has served us well over the years, and we are now ready to move to the next level again. Our team is fresh and ready to meet the challenge, and we are looking forward to what the coming months and years will bring as look to work on more fantastic new projects.”
