Reading-based large format graphics supplier VGL has installed a swissQprint Kudu, as the business continues to invest in pushing boundaries and delivering exceptional print for its customers.
Established in 1976, VGL has a proud record of investing in the latest technology to provide creative, end-to-end solutions for its customers. The large format print specialist has built an outstanding reputation for providing exceptional quality graphics to brands across a variety of sectors.
When seeking a new printer for the growing needs of the business, it was therefore essential the new machine met various demanding performance criteria. Productivity was paramount but versatility, sustainability, and reliability were also key.
Investing in versatility and innovation
It quickly became apparent that swissQprint’s Kudu flatbed printer, winner of a European Digital Press Association award, was the perfect choice. Featuring a 3.2×2 metre print bed and printing at up to 304 square meters per hour, the Kudu met VGL’s demand for productivity.
Additionally, an extensive selection process in the UK and Switzerland clearly demonstrated the Kudu’s flexibility and quality with its 10 colour channels, 1350 dpi resolution and roll to roll as well as dual roll options.
“The Kudu steps into a space, of both creativity and productivity, that really suits our broad range of clients. The quality of output and sustainability benefits, which we also expect, are clearly evident,” said VGL’s Managing Director Daniel Field.
ROI and sustainability combined
Alongside the quality and flexibility provided by the Kudu, its efficient running costs and sustainability benefits were an important factor in VGL’s decision. Certified to consume only 2.2 kilowatt-hours of electricity, equal to an average kettle, energy use is minimised.
Its UV printing process and LED technology also ensures low emissions and allied with swissQprint’s Greenguard Gold certified inks, the Kudu provided the opportunity to create the sustainable print VGL’s customers expect.
Close collaboration
Steve Pridham, Sales Manager at swissQprint UK, said: “It was a pleasure to collaborate closely with VGL and show how the Kudu could meet their high expectations on so many different levels.”
With its successful install the swissQprint team looks forward to seeing how VGL uses the Kudu to continue its tradition of delivering innovation and service in large format printing.
