Avery Dennison Opens AD Northern Wrap Center

Wrapped UK near Manchester will deliver AD Wrap Center’s full range of certified media wrapping training courses

Avery Dennison has launched the AD Northern Wrap Center in Nelson, near Burnley. Located in the premises of Wrapped UK, the AD Northern Wrap Center will deliver Mactac and Avery Dennison product training, including automotive and architectural wrap training courses led by industry experts with years of hands-on experience.

Ash Ellison is the founder and owner of Wrapped UK and will be one of the specialist trainers at the Center. “Wrapped UK has a team of professionals who deliver first-class wrapping services. We are delighted to be the home of the new AD Northern Wrap Center and have the opportunity to teach people the theoretical and practical elements of installing our films correctly.”

He continues, “The premises are divided into three sections. The automotive area is set up with various types of van panels to teach the correct installation methods for digital print and colour change with a hands-on approach. The architectural area provides more practical training for floors, walls, surfaces, and glass substrates. There is also a well-equipped and comfortable classroom training area for those all-important theoretical elements.”

He adds, “Our training courses deliver knowledge and practical skills to support installers and converters working with film materials. From complete beginners to very experienced installers, our training programmes are designed to boost confidence and equip the skills needed to reach the highest level.”

“In addition to the training programmes, the AD Specialist Trainers provide installer and partner certification, including an audit of customers’ business and operations. This unlocks access to higher levels of certification, such as the Integrated Component System (ICS) Warranty Platinum Programme,” explains Dominic.

Specialist Trainers

There are two highly experienced trainers who will be leading courses at the AD Northern Wrap Center. Ash Ellison and Mark Richardson:

Ash Ellison

Ash wrapped his first vehicle straight from school in 2009 and is now one of the UK’s leading specialists. He specialises in complete colour change wraps and paint Protection Films, has completed award-winning supercar wraps, and has been featured on TV. Ash has been a Specialist Trainer for Avery Dennison since 2019, covering the UK and Scandinavia. He set up Wrapped UK in 2018 to provide car wrapping and paint protection film, now employing eight staff.

Mark Richardson

Mark has been in the sign industry for over 23 years and has been wrapping vehicles for more than 11 years. He is committed to providing best-in-class practices in graphics applications and, at the same time, has worked on a huge range of global projects, including F1 and airships. He has been part of the Avery Dennison Specialist Trainers Network since 2011.

Ideal location for the North of the UK

Dominic Fowler adds, “Our Southern AD Wrap Center in the UK, based at Funkeefish in Essex, has been a great success. The demand for courses has increased significantly, and opening a new Center is essential to meeting this need. The new Center has been designed to enable real-world practical installation training and state-of-the-art classroom facilities for theoretical learning in comfort and style.”

The first courses at the new AD Northern Wrap Center will be Architectural Window Film on 17^th October and 14^th November.

Ash Ellison concludes, “I have been an AD Wrap Center training specialist for five years, and I can’t wait to deliver the first course at the premises of my own business. Film application requires a range of core personal skills, including patience and attention to detail. Our courses are designed to help build on these while learning the specifics of wrapping step-by-step to help people grow and develop in the field to the highest standard.
