Antalis Launches Priplak® R30

New Priplak R30 from Antalis has a 30% post-industrial waste content

Antalis introduces Priplak R30, a new addition to its sustainable product range. The company says the product offers enhanced environmental benefits for the visual communications sector.

Priplak R30 is made from polypropylene and contains 30% post-industrial recycled content. Antalis says this strengthens its credentials as a sustainable and versatile material for applications such as POS displays, signage, packaging, and more.

Polypropylene

Priplak R30 is crafted from polypropylene, which Antalis says is recognised as one of the most sustainable plastics available.

Steve Lister has more than 20 years experience of championing sustainability in retail and signage

We talked to sign and print industry sustainability specialist Steve Lister about polypropylene. He said, “Polypropylene is one of the more ‘sustainable plastics’, but this is a subjective view because it is still a petrochemical-based plastic. It is certainly better than many other plastics because it is inert. It is also halogen-free and Phthalate-free, unlike PVC. One of the benefits of polypropylene is that it’s easier to recycle than other plastics. It’s 100% recyclable and doesn’t lose any of its strength & quality properties when recycled.”

Priplak is crafted from polypropylene, which is recognised as one of the most sustainable plastics available. Its ecological nature and responsible manufacturing practices make it a top choice for environmentally conscious professionals. According to an independent study in 2024, Priplak has a significantly lower carbon footprint than other similar plastics such as PVC, PET and PS. Recycled Priplak was shown to have a score similar to even that of virgin carton board material. Priplak is manufactured to ISO14001 environmental standards, uses no water in the production process, aside from a closed-loop cooling system, and overall has a minor impact on the depletion of non-renewable fossil fuels.
